Aria first expressed her love of music by busking in the belly of New York City's subway system. After that, she began building her network among the city's creatives, including Joan Jett, Mikki James and Kara DioGuardi. Then, through fronting the punk rock band Apocalypstik in the early 2000s, she became acquainted with the city's burgeoning underground music scene. Around this time, she began writing music for film and television. Today, her work has been featured in such titles as The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Shameless, Animal Kingdom, and Lucy in the Sky. She has since fronted the band Some Go Haunting and today releases music under the moniker AO.
